The answer to everything

Have you ever seen a bumper sticker that says “Jesus is the answer” or heard someone say it? And maybe you thought “The answer to what – what was the question?”

In Hebrew there is a word “yasha” that means to rescue, to help, to defend, to preserve, to make free, to attain victory, to bring safety, to heal and to save – just one word that is the answer to every need we could have.

We all need rescue from our circumstances sometimes, we all need help in times of trouble, we all need freedom from our addictions and our worries, we all need healing from either mental or physical illnesses- i.e. We all seek for salvation in one way or another.

From “yasha” comes the name Yeshua. Yeshua was the Hebrew name given to the baby born in Bethlehem in a stable, to Mary and Joseph. That name, translated into the Greek, is Iesous and in English it is in turn translated as Jesus.

In Jesus, God came down to earth to be our help, our rescue, our defense, our preserving, our healing, our freedom, our victory, our salvation. In Jesus, and His death on the cross for our sins and resurrection to life again, God became the answer to all our needs.

What is the greatest and deepest need in your life? Jesus is indeed the answer!
